CA Workload Automation AE - Business Agents (AutoSys) CA Workload Automation AE - Scheduler (AutoSys) Workload Automation Agent

Issue/Introduction

Unable To start services of WAAE from services.msc and autosysadmin but able to start manually from command line.

Environment

Windows 2008 and 2012

Cause

When you try to start the services of scheduler from services.msc or autosysadmin GUI then below command will be executed.

C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\Workload Automation AE\autosys\bin\eventsysd.exe -A <instance name>

Manually going to path "C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\Workload Automation AE\autosys\bin\" in command line and execute "eventsysd.exe -A <instance name>" the scheduler may start. Sometimes when you try to start services from services.msc or autosysadmin it will not start the scheduler or display an error.

This issue may occur, when the startup path may contain the duplicate files name which may be similar as below.

C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\Workload Automation AE\autosys\bin\eventsysd.exe -A <instance name>

Example # In "C:\Program Files" it may contact a file like "Program" which can cause an issue.

Resolution

Renaming of the file name which look similar would resolve the problem.
