Detailed Description and Symptoms

When running an SAP job the customer receives an error message like:

U2004007 Error 'Function module "/SBB/UC4_JOB_OPEN"

U2000009 Job 'TEST_1' with RUN# '11228899' ended with return code '102'

Investigation

Upon further investigation, it appears that this error implies that there was a problem with the SAP transports.  A customer may have imported the transports and received an error code of '8', but had the transports completed successfully.  This error code means that not everything was imported correctly.

Solution

1. Reattempt submitting the job using a different login object.
2. Make sure that the user type is the correct type for the user, and check other internal user settings. 
3. Check that the process was an interactive process (GUI) and not a batch process.
4. Submit the job using the default settings (with no variant specified) in order to eliminate the variant as the problem.
