Issue/Introduction

Our auditors need to know how many versions of a program we keep in CA Librarian.

How can we find the number of archive levels kept in CA Librarian Master files?

Environment

z/OSz/VSE

Resolution

The number of Archive levels is set individually in each Librarian Master file when it is initialized.

To see what the Archive levels are set to for a Master file, run a CA Librarian Master File Index report.

At the top of the output listing is a section that lists the defaults for that Master file:

THE MASTER FILE DEFAULTS FOR 'name of the Master file'  ARE:
ARCHIVED AT x LEVELS
