At CICS start time CA DADS Plus for CICS control fails to allocate a file and issues message DADSP558.

Issue/Introduction

The client has a file under CA DADS Plus for CICS control. At startup time CA DADS fails to allocate the file and issues message DADSP558 error code 1408.
DADSP558 04:08:50 CICSABS1 'FILE'='KAR$DAT3' ALLOC FAILED RC=X'04'E=X'0210'I=X'0000'

Cause

The file that CA DADS Plus for CICS is trying to allocate to CICS that is allocated to another job.

Resolution

The applications team had use the ONLINE CA DADS transaction DADA to manually allocate the file in question to CICS.

The CA DADS Plus for CICS online error code information shows the error code 

As per the DADS Primary option panel option 8

The file was in use by another JOB
