Once a Rapid Automation (RA) Business Objects (BO) Job is accessed for first time, one session is created in BusinessObjects XI (BOXI).  If the Job is closed and you exit the Automation Engine (AE), the BOXI session still exists and the session is not logged off.

Open the same RA BO Job for a second time and the same BOXI session is used.  The one that was created on the first try.

If the report is selected, from inside the RA BO Job, a new BOXI session is generated. Then if the RA BO Job is closed and reopened and the report is selected again, a new BOXI session is created.

Whenever a new select report is performed on the RA BO Job, a new session is created in BOXI and all these sessions will remain active and will not be logged off.  Therefore, when multiple users access multiple RA BO Jobs all those sessions remain open and accumulate.

  1. Access an RA BO Job.
  2. Close the Job.
  3. Exit the AE User Interface.
  4. Log back into the AE User Interface.
  5. Access the same RA BO Job as in step 1.

Actual: The first BOXI session does not close and the same BOXI session is used.  The one that was created from the first access of the Job in step 1.

Expected:  The first BOXI session should have closed and a new BOXI session should have been used when the RA BO Job was accessed in step 5.

Cause type:
Root Cause: If an error occurs when checking the connection for a WEBI job run (possibly due to an expired logon token), after that a new session (logon token) will be created for each job run.


Update to a fix version listed below or a newer version if available.
