If you open the user object and change the password within the UserInterface, then save the changes, you will see that in the database the change to the password is not saved.
This was due too a bug that has been fixed in the below versions of the Automation Engine. The problem was within the usdsfun library where the USRP table was not being correctly updated.
Cause type: Defect Root Cause: There is a bug when changing a user's password which causes the AE to incorrectly update the USRP table in the database.
