Issue/Introduction
Error Message : U00011458 Error in function 'NetGetDCName'. Error code: 'Could not find the domain controller for the domain
File transfers (FT) from a Windows agent to another agent return "U00011458 Error in function 'NetGetDCName'. Error code: 'Could not find the domain controller for the domain".
This error appears in the agent's log every time a FT is performed.
This issue affects the Windows agent. In older versions file transfers systematically failed when the Domain Controller could not be contacted by the Agent. As of the fixed versions listed below, file transfers succeed but the error is still displayed in the FT report.
Environment
OS: Windows
Cause
Cause type: Defect Root Cause: If the primary domain server cannot be contacted, the Windows Agent will fail to determine the user's home directory.
Resolution
1 - Update the agent to a fixed version or higher so file transfers will succeed even if the Domain Controller cannot be reached by the agent.
2 - If a fixed version is already installed, edit the agent's ini file and set "ft_omit_user_home = yes" in the [GLOBAL] section. It will deactivate the use of function 'NetGetDCName'.
