WP hangs when trace directory is non-editable

Issue/Introduction

Error Message :
In WP logs, multiple times: U00003524 UCUDB: ===> Time critical DB call!

This issue happens only under certain circumstances:

1. Tracing of WPs is activated but the trace directory is not accessible (invalid rights  or permissions) 
2. There is a certain response time to reach the trace directory. For instance, when the trace directory is located on a (slow) NFS volume.

When the trace directory is non-writeable but local, this issue does not occur. 
In tests where the response time of the NFS disk was 80 milliseconds, the freeze occurred after minutes. With shorter response times it may take longer before the WP hangs.
