Issue/Introduction

After downloading and unpacking the installation package from the Automic Download Center, it is possible that anti-virus software will flag ucxjslx.exe in the Siebel Agent binary directory as a virus.

Environment

OS Version: N/A

Cause

Cause type:
Other
Root Cause: False report by a third party software

Resolution

Since most of the anti-virus solutions are based on heuristics and signatures it is possible that there are false positives. In this case, the agent uses some OS core functionality that are sometimes also used in malware. Additionally, the agent receives commands from an external source (Automation Engine) and executes them. Thus, some anti-virus solutions may think that the binary is infected. Automic does confirm that the ucxjslx.exe binary is not infected by any malware.
