Issue/Introduction

Error Message :
N/A

When transferring files with special characters (i.e. EBCDIC German) in the USS filename from a z/OS Agent to a Windows Agent, the filenames on the target system might not be correct after the transfer.

The z/OS Agent converts the USS (HFS) file names using the EBCDIC/International to ASCII table.  Only encoding/characters present in EBCDIC/International and ASCII are supported.

Investigation

Enter the following USS filename:
ÜÖÄüöäß%$àáâèéê.txt

This is converted to:
!ÖÄüöäß$??????.txt

when the file is transferred to the Windows machine.

Cause

Cause type:
By design
Root Cause: zOS Agent converts the USS filenames using EBCDIC/International to ASCII table.

In section [Global] of the CallAPI INI file, force the use of the  default EDCDIC code page.
