Starting RA Agents display log4j Warning messages in AgentServce log but have no impact

log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger (org.apache.bsf.BSFManager).
log4j:WARN Please initialize the log4j system properly.

When starting an RA Agent, such as Banner or Informatica, the above warning messages are displayed in the $AW_HOME/log/AgentService.log file.

These are warning messages only, and do not have any adverse impact on product functionality.

This warning is displayed because Apache’s Bean Scripting Framework Manager (BSFManager) is trying to use log4j to show debug messages when compiling the Agent before it is started.



Cause type:
Root Cause: This is a harmless warning message and has no adverse impact on the product. Making changes to surpress this warning message in our code has potential risks, so there are no plans to supress the warning.
