Issue/Introduction

Error Message :
could not find import file STATIC.exp

When running an upgrade using awinstall the above error message is displayed during the installation.
 
"Installation exited with errors".

A review of the $AW_HOME/install/awinstall.log shows the following errors:
 
Importing STATIC
rm tmp*.dat
   rm: cannot remove `tmp*.dat': No such file or directory
IMPEXP IMPORT STATIC
   Processing IMPORT STATIC
   could not find import file STATIC.exp
*************** Import Failed **********************
Fatal Error occurred - check the log

Root Cause: This error occurs when the static.exp import file is not located in the $AW_HOME/import directory.

This field was added on 30/03/2017. This article has not been updated yet. Refer to the "Description" or "Workaround" sections for solution information.

Workaround :
The two recommendations are: 1. Place a copy of static.exp in the master's $AW_HOME/import directory from another instance that is on the same version. OR 2. Remove the $AW_HOME/data/extract_file.dat and rerun cdinst.sh/cdinstall.bat from the media to extract the static.exp
