Within DB Cleanup Tool configuration file it is necessary to add the login user for the database, so the cleanup tool can access the database and do the tasks there.

Therefore it is also necessary to add the password for the DB user within the configuration file.

Currently it is not possible to encrypt the password using the ucbcryp.exe tool which is supposed to encrypt the passwords e.g. for the password of DB user within Automation Engine.

Environment

Release:
Component: ARLSMG

Cause

Cause type:
By design
Root Cause: It is not possible to use encrypted passwords within the ARA DB-Cleanup.exe configuration file.

Resolution

The Database connection of ARA only supports plain text passwords.

Fix Status: No Fix

Additional Information

Workaround :
There are two ways to work around this behavior:
  1. Add the password in plain text, and ensure on Filesystem and Environment site, that no one is able to read the password out of the file.
OR
  1. Remove the password from the config file and only write it there in case you run the dbcleanup Tool. Since this is a few times in a year usually, this should not be a big effort.
