SAP Jobs with children running remain in RUNNING status in AE if SAP Agent is restarted

If an SAP Job with children is running when the SAP Agent is restarted, the Job never ends.
This problem has been detected during an SAP related activity, for example, when the SAP user profiles had to be regenerated in which the Agent had to be stopped and restarted. Once the Agent was restarted the SAP Jobs that had children running before the restart, never finished.
The SAP Jobs remained, either in the Activity or Statistics Panel in the Automation Engine (AE) in a status of 'RUNNING' indefinitely even though the Jobs had finished in SAP. It is not possible to ensure the correct dependency handling for these jobs in related Workflows as a result.
This issue has only been detected in AE versions 10 and 11 of the SAP Agent and does not seem to be related to the SAP system versions, but has been reproduced when using both SAP Basis Version 7.31 and 7.40 in the affected AE versions.
