When attempting to login from a Windows 2012 Server using the User Interface it may take some time to successfully connect and may even time out when a folder list is displayed in the GUI or a search is performed.

Investigation

This behavior has been seen in Automation Engine (AE) installations on Windows 2012 Servers where 
  • The number of entries in the activity window contained more than 20000 items.
  • The AE version is older than v11.2.1 and the temp folder for the log files contain a lot of memory dump with the "Access violation" errors and force trace and the WP crashes.

Workaround :
Clean up (deactivate) tasks in the activity window so there are fewer records being returned and the User Interface should be able to successfully connect.
