Unable to login to User Interface or slow to connect

When attempting to login from a Windows 2012 Server using the User Interface it may take some time to successfully connect and may even time out when a folder list is displayed in the GUI or a search is performed.
This behavior has been seen in Automation Engine (AE) installations on Windows 2012 Servers where
The number of entries in the activity window contained more than 20000 items.
The AE version is older than v11.2.1 and the temp folder for the log files contain a lot of memory dump with the "Access violation" errors and force trace and the WP crashes.
Cause type: Defect Root Cause: Automation Engine DWP server crashes sporadically when a folder list is displayed in the GUI or a search is performed in the GUI

Workaround : Clean up (deactivate) tasks in the activity window so there are fewer records being returned and the User Interface should be able to successfully connect.
