When performing reorganization, it takes more than 1 hour to finish. The same set of data files, dumped on a similar system, takes much less time to be reorganized. The Filesystem where the Dollar Universe data and temp folder are stored, is shared with another Application, like SAP.
When checking the IOPS / service times during the reorganizatoin of the concerned disk, it is observed that the disks are performing very slowly.
Cause
Cause type: Configuration Root Cause: This issue usually happens when Dollar Universe data files are stored in a non-performant SAN / NFS drive or the filesystem is shared with a high demanding application like SAP / Database.
Environment
OS: All
Resolution
As a golden rule, always schedule the reorganization during non-peak hours. In order to fix the problem, ask your Network / System teams to check the I/O Performances on SAN / NFS drive, comparing them with a local filesystem. In case they can't be improved, and Dollar Universe is running on version 6.3.x or superior, you will have to move the Dollar Universe installation to a faster drive / filesystem.
Fix Status: No Fix
