Issue/Introduction

Import of a PKG file for Mac OS in SD Library is failing with error :

 

Registration failed:

Error 17: Invalid product format [SDG001121]

Cause

Mac OS PKG format is not supported in ITCM by SD Import feature.

PKG extension which appears in menu "Import - PKG, PIF or RPM-package..." is a reference to "Solaris Datastream Package".  On Solaris these files are installed using command pkgadd.

 

 

Resolution

For Mac OS PKG file, a regular SD Package should be created by providing the command line to install the PKG file.

Example :

installer -pkg package.pkg -target /
