Issue/Introduction

Error Message :
N/A

Patch level detected:Dollar Universe 6.1.00
Product Version: Dollar.Universe 6.1.0

Description :Some Dollar Universe jobs are launched but never completed and end in "Aborted" status. This is happening with the same jobs every time and it concerns only the jobs executing scripts trying to connect to an Oracle DataBase.
This will mainly occur after the Dollar Universe node is upgraded from V5 to V6.X.

Environment

OS: All Unix
Related configuration item(s): All DUAS V6.1 versions and above

Cause

Cause type:
Configuration
Root Cause: When upgrading DUAS from V5 to V6 on all Unix OS's , a new node variable TNS_ADMIN="" is automatically defined in the variable.xml file.( ---- section TNS_ADMIN in variable.xml file ----------------- )
!-- Variable TNS_ADMIN -->
var id="TNS_ADMIN" is_env="Y">
display lang="EN">Oracle administration directory
display lang="FR">Répertoire d'administration Oracle
nature>STATIC
data type="STRING">
default>
/data>
/var>
When a job is launched, with any submission account, it will abort because it doesn't recover it's own TNS_ADMIN variable value setted in the .profile file, but the one automatically set in the variables.xml file.

Resolution

If you need a workaround without installing Dollar Universe 6.3.21:

Deactivate the "TNS_ADMIN" variable in the variables.xml file (company_name/bin/variables.xml):

replace 'Y' by 'N' in the line :
##################

##################

in the section below:
-------------------------

Oracle administration directory
Répertoire d'administration Oracle
STATIC

-------------------------

This variable is static, so it needs a node Stop / Restart to take effect.
