Issue/Introduction

Error Message :
No error appear at all on the universe.log neither the eep.log on the customer case because since the process could not start, they could not write on the logs.

Patch level detected:Dollar Universe 6.2.00
Product Version: Dollar.Universe 6.2.0

Description :After a modification / deployment on the security policies on the system (GPOs) , some services configured to use a Logon account different than Local System can't be started anymore.
On the customer case, these two were the IO service and the EEP service.

Environment

OS: Windows

Cause

Cause type:
Configuration
Root Cause: The deployment / update of the Group Policy Objects (GPOs) done by the System Administrator revoked the permissions on the Dollar Universe directories to the user that was configured to start the windows services IO and EEP.

Resolution

In order to restore the service, ask the Windows system administrator to check the permissions on the user that was configured to start these services at the time and grant it full permissions on the Dollar Universe folder.
Else, temporarily modify on the Logon tab of the impacted services so they start using the Local System Account, but this can have an impact if you use them to check file-resources which are available on a shared disk.

Fix Status: Released
