Job stuck in status “Generating” in Activities Window

Issue/Introduction

Error Message :
UCUDB: Invalid value in Boolean field 'HOST_SmLinkFlag'.

When a Job with the following characteristics is executed, the error below occurs and the Job is stuck in a status of Generating (system return code 1572) in the Activities Window.

• Job (JOBS) uses a Host Group (HOSTG)
• Job has “Generate at runtime” activated – is generated at runtime
• Job uses a script function which interrupts the script processing, for example:
  • ACTIVATE_UC_OBJECT
  • PREP_PROCESS_FILENAME
  • and others

This has been observed specifically after updating to version 12.  The same object works fine in older versions.

Root Cause: A job object fails after activate_uc_object, if job object uses an agent-group. Error "U00003518 UCUDB: Invalid value in Boolean field 'HOST_SmLinkFlag'." is shown.

Update to a fix version listed below or a newer version if available.

Additional Information

Workaround :
There is no workaround found for this bug. However, ALL three characteristics mentioned above must exist for this issue to occur.  So the Job may be modified so that not all 3 characteristics exist in order to mitigate the bug.

Affected tasks can be removed from the activity window using the function Modify status manually.
