Issue/Introduction

Error Message :

The documentation of File events in 11.2 states that the UC_HOSTCHAR_DEFAULT field FE_VERSION should be either 1 or 2.  However, after a fresh install this field holds the value of -1.

Furthermore the variable contains an undocumented entry FILEEVENT_VERSION.

Cause

Cause type:
Defect
Root Cause: Deprecated values in UC_HOSTCHAR_DEFAULT (i.e. -1) only 1 and 2 are acceptable. Use only FE_VERSION for host characteristics and not FILEEVENT_VERSION.

Environment

OS Version: N/A

Resolution

Update to a fix version listed below or a newer version if available.

There are 2 fixes for these issues:

  1. The inconsistency has been fixed where instead of setting FE_VERSION, FILEEVENT_VERSION was inserted into the host characteristics variable UC_HOSTCHAR_DEFAULT. Fixed in Automation Engine 12.1.0 and 12.0.3.
  2. The documentation has been aligned to the new behavior which uses FE_VERSION with a default of 2.  Fixed in Automic Workload Automation documentation version 12.0.
