Search results different between AWI and Java Client

The search result is different between the Automic Web Interface (AWI) 12.0.0 and the deprecated Java Client when searching for objects with special characters such as "#".

Investigation

1. ​Create 2 objects with the same name using the AWI.

Example: 

WIN_420148_MO#BCD03_TSM_BCD_COPY_SCRIPTS.1
WIN_420148_MO#BCD03_TSM_BCD_COPY_SCRIPTS.2

 

2. Search for the object using the following string:

MO#

 

Actual: Only the tasks are being displayed, not the objects.

Expected:  Both objects should be returned.

Root Cause: Search results different between AWI and Java Client. Query needed to be modified in the AWI.
