Creating Web Service version 3 connection objects results in ORA-20080 error

Article ID: 84817

CA Automic Workload Automation - Automation Engine

Error Message :
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-20080: {Net Connect} 4xxx vs 4000

This applies to RA Web Service version 3 on Applications Manager only.

When an RA Web Service version 3 connection object is created and saved in Applications Manager, the above error message is displayed.

<Please see attached file for image>

This behavior is due to the new axis2 framework in which RA Web Service version 3 was built. With this new framework, the WSDL link that is used to create the connection object is causing the error because the WSDL's "operations" information about and how to run the WSDL, is stored in the so_net_connect field, which currently has a max 4000 character limit.

While this is seen as an as designed behavior, an enhancement request has been made to Automic Product Management (PM). If you would like to also submit a Enhancement Request regarding this topic or any other topics, please visit

Cause type:
By design
Root Cause: An enhancemnt to the product is reequired to increase in size of the so_net_connect field in the so_ids table to handle larger operations.

Release: AOMBOA99000-3.0-Automic-Operations Manager-Business Objects Agent

To resolve this issue, please decrease the number of operations that is built into the WSDL.
