Issue/Introduction

Error Message :
U02000086 Unable to find function 'pam_getenvlist' in library 'libpam.so'.
U00029003 Cannot open file ???(ReadFileAuthority())', error code '2', error description: 'No such file or directory'

When running any job on an HP-UX system with PAM and shadow passwords enabled, the job fails and the following errors can be seen within the Agent log:
 

U00029003 Cannot open file '???(ReadFileAuthority())', error code '2', error description: 'No such file or directory' 

This is caused by the following error:

U02000086 Unable to find function 'pam_getenvlist' in library 'libpam.so'. 

 

Environment

OS: HP UX Itanium
OS Version: N/A

Cause

Cause type:
Defect
Root Cause: The Unix agent did not recognize that HP Unix PAM libraries do not support loading PAM environments and crashed in case the PAM library could not successfully be bound. Loading PAM library has been made fault tolerant.

Resolution

Update to a fix version listed below or a newer version if available.
