Error Message : In AWI: Objects Search Error: no Result
In the Java stack trace: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.util.concurrent.ExecutionException: com.uc4.ecc.backends.exceptions.AutomationEngineAPIException: No REST-Endpoints returned from Backend
When using the search functionality in the Automic Web Interface (AWI) version 12.1 or higher the above error is returned.
Cause
Cause type: Configuration Root Cause: No Java Communication Process (JCP) was started.

Resolution
In AWI 12.1 the JCP was introduced which among other things is responsible for the advanced search functionality
The Java Communication Process (JCP) is a special kind of communication process. Implemented in Java, it is used to host special services such as the AE REST Web Services.
As of v12.1 several important functions in the Automation Engine such as triggering and monitoring executions and the advanced object search depend on the JCP being installed and running.
Therefore, the JCP installation is mandatory. Installation is covered in Step 6 of the following documentation:
