CA Identity Manager 12.6 CR04 CP6 fails to start up on JBoss 5.1

An Identity Manager environment with JBoss 5.1 no longer starts up after upgrading to 12.6 SP4 CR4 CP6. 


The log shows the following error: 

WARN [ims.default] (main) Unlimited Strength Java Crypto Extensions enabled: TRUE 

ERROR [ims.default] (main) Connection to Policy Server failed. 

ERROR [ims.bootstrap.Main] (main) The IAM FW Startup was not successful 

ERROR [ims.bootstrap.Main] (main) javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: rar not bound 

at org.jnp.server.NamingServer.getBinding( 

at org.jnp.server.NamingServer.getBinding( 

at org.jnp.server.NamingServer.getObject( 

at org.jnp.server.NamingServer.lookup( 


ERROR [STDERR] (main) javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: rar not bound 


Jboss EAP 5.1 does not work with CP6 of 12.6 SP4 CR4.

The solution to this problem is to either downgrade to 12.6 CR4 CP5 or upgrade to JBoss 6.x.
