Issue/Introduction

We have several agency users that are using ADRDSSU as part of their Disaster / Recovery backup and restore process.

Is ADRDSSU an acceptable way to backup and restore PANLIB databases?

The CA Panvalet PANLIBs should be backed up regularly using the PAN#2 ++DUMP utility and create a Protection file that contains a copy of all stored members.

We highly recommend that you establish a fixed daily or weekly schedule to perform a DUMP.

Yes, can use IBM DFSMSdssADRDSSU to backup and restore Panvalet PANLIBs as part of the DR procedures but strongly recommend that you also have the appropriate PAN#2 Protection files available as back up in case a PANLIB gets corrupted during the restore.
