Issue/Introduction

Running TMSXTEND with UNIQUE_RNAME=YES and EXCLUDE statements in the CPULIST DD for inactive CPUs fails with USER COMPLETION CODE=1022 REASON CODE=00000006. REASON CODE 6 means TMSAUDEX ended with non-zero completion code and in the TMSAUDEX report message "ERROR EXCLUDE NOT ALLOWED" is issued for the excluded CPUs.

What is the reason for that?

Resolution

If UNIQUE_RNAME=YES is used in the TMSXTEND control statements, CPUs can't be excluded. As this feature changes the way how the TMC and AUDIT are serialized, it is necessary, that all systems sharing the TMC are included in the TMSXTEND process.

In case CA 1 can't be activated on the excluded CPU, since the it was permanently shutdown for example, then either format a new AUDIT Data Set, to get rid of the AUDIT records from this CPU or wait until these AUDIT records have been overwritten, so that it no longer needs to be excluded.
