CA Copycat Utility furnishes tape copy and file copy functions that are compatible with CA 1 and CA-TLMS operations. It is driven by control statements which you supply as SYSIN with the execution JCL, specifying a function code and one or more function control statements.

Why this abend and how to prevent it from happening?

Cause

 

In CA COPYCAT 12.0 Installing Guide we provide detailed steps to install the product both using Chorus CA MSM or starting from the PAX File.

We also underline the fact that the product load library should be made APF-authorized and/or added to Link List if possible.

This abend is caused by the fact that the load library referenced in the jcl used to run CA Copycat Utility is not APF-authorized or lost this authorization due to a wrong concatenation if a //STEPLIB DD is used in the jcl and it references several load libraries.   

 

Resolution

 

To prevent the ABEND S330 from happening, the load library referenced in the jcl used to run the CA Copycat Utility should be APF-authorized.

If, after this suggestion, the dump is still generated running CA Copycat Utility jcl, Please open a Case with CA Support.
