Getting TPXL0045 APPLICATION RETURNED INVALID BIND when selecting TSO3B

Issue/Introduction

When selecting applid TSO3B we are getting the error message TPXL0045 APPLICATION RETURNED INVALID BIND

Cause

Compatibility issue between the Physical Terminal and the TPX Virtual Terminal.
In this case the Physical Terminal Name is MC3B0134. The TPX Virtual Terminal selected is TPXGR001 (Model 2 non-extender or non EDATS).
The logmode associated with a receive from the physical terminal is SNX32705 (model 5 extended LU2) doing the "S" on TPX Main Menu.
The REQSESS points to a NIB that has D4B32XX3 as DLOGMODE (LU0) not a valid T3278M2 or a similar TPX DLOGMODE.
 

Resolution

1. Verify the TPX Logmode was assembled and linked into the VTAMLIB.

2. From the TPX System Administration Menu select option 2  Application Definition  (ACT) then select the Application.Table that is in the startup.

Select the Application to verify there is NOT an entry in the Mode Entry Override. This override specifies the name of a particular logon mode table entry that TPX must use for this application. Include this value only for applications that require the use of a specific logon mode table entry name.

   
3.Verify there is NOT a Mode Entry Override in the specific application either in the profile or user definition.

From the TPX User/Group Administration Menu to check the Profile select option 2  Profile Maintenance then select option  2 TPX Application Session Options

Select the application. Verify there is NOT an entry for   Modent name:      ________ 

From the TPX User/Group Administration Menu to check the User select option 3  User Maintenance then select option  2 TPX Application Session Options

Select the application. Verify there is NOT an entry for   Modent name:      ________
