RMSYSLOGS failed sylog interface failed for syslogd RMINWI96 could not restart the SYSLOG daemon

Issue/Introduction

When bringing up Netmaster Network Management for TCP/IP I am seeing this message during initialization of SYSLOGD:

RMSYSLOGS failed sylog interface failed for syslogd

RMINWI96 Could not restart the SYSLOG daemon

 

 

Cause

In /PARMS $RM SYSLOGD

 

The interface is enabled but nothing is configured to allow correct initialization.

Resolution

If you are attempting to configure SYSLOGD, please review our documentation here .

 

If you do not have SYSLOGD configured, ensure that this parameter is set in /PARMS SYSLOGD

Enable Interface? ... NO

Then save with PF4 and action the parameter group with PF6.

You can check the transient log with PF5 to ensure no errors remain.
