Issue/Introduction

Upgrade of DSM Manager fails with error 1603.

In file %TEMP%\TRC_INST_ITRM_*.log following error appears :
 

run command: <C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SC\Mdb\Windows\jre\bin\java.exe  -Djava.library.path=".\lib"   -classpath .\lib\log4j-1.2.8.jar;.\lib\ojdbc14.jar;.\lib\sqljdbc.jar;.\setup.jar;.\;.\msql\post_install.sql  ca.cms.mdb.setup.Setup  -cfg setup.properties -a  checkprereq_install/install/verifyschema/addusers/postinstall>
LaunchCmd start
LaunchCmd: Process could not be created, errro code <2>
LaunchCmd end return <FALSE>

Cause

Error code 2 indicates that file C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SC\Mdb\Windows\jre\bin\java.exe could not be found.

The directory C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SC\Mdb could be missing or partially deleted.

Client Automation - All versions

Resolution

In order to solve this problem :

- Rename the directory C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SC\Mdb as C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SC\Mdb.old (if it exists)
- Restore the directory C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SC\mdb from another DOMAIN



Remark :
Adapt this solution with the correct path for Shared Component directory (default is : C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SC).
