USM portal fails to load

Issue/Introduction

Unable to load USM, with a tns or timeout error. Looking in the x:\Nimsoft\probes\service\wasp\portal.log you find:

ERROR [DaoExecutorActor:42] Error occurred while handling GET_ALL_ALARMS 

com.esotericsoftware.kryo.KryoException: Unable to find class: org.hibernate.QueryTimeoutException

Cause

 

 

Resolution

USM relies on the udm_manager and trellis on the primary hub. Check the logs on those probes to make sure that you are not seeing any errors. Trellis also makes a connection to ace. In the case of the above error ace was in an error state and trellis was unable to connect to it. Restarting the 3 probes in the following order resolved the problem:
