Issue/Introduction

Use of Ziip engines

Hi, We have CA Detector for DB2 R19 installed, but there is some question whether the data collection is being done so that it can offload some of the collection to ZIIP engines.
How can we check the status and if it is not using ZIIP engines, how do we change it to use the ZIIP engines?

Environment

z/os DB2

Resolution

One of the enhancements with R19 was the use of Ziip processors by the Xmanager address space.
Here is a link to docops which explains how it functions and how to activate it.

To see if you are using Ziip processing i have supplied another link to docops which gives the steps to
display Xmanager statistics including Ziip use.
