Does the UID need to be masked to the end

Issue/Introduction

Do UID strings in rules need to be masked out to the end of the UID field?  For one rule on STC1SOTR and STC1SOTB, do I need to use UID(STC*XXX*) instead of UID(STC*XXX)?

Resolution

The UID string is automatically treated as a mask.  Any thing at the end of the coded UID field is considered a masked character.  UID TFINPAYNLTSTCLLAB would be a match to a rule that has UID(TFINPAY).  By omitting characters at the end, you can form a more general UID mask up to 24 total characters.
