CIC fails to connect to contentupdate.ca.com due to invalid Unit ID.

Issue/Introduction

Default Software Content Update remains in error after each Engine run.

Cause

CIC.log shows the following ERROR:

 

2017-07-21 15:19:17,909 [pool-1-thread-1] ERROR [com.ca.sccc.CCException] - Method contentTypeInfo_1_0 returned 4 from contentupdate.ca.com:  Invalid unit id ac527e10-6522-03e7-8353-a3402e9a3979

Resolution

1.- Stop Domain Manager services.
2.- On folder ..CA\SC\CIC\conf search for 'Conf.xml' file.
3.- Find the following line in it and clean the content of <unitId> section, leaving it as follow:

<content_server_connection_properties>
<url>contentupdate.ca.com</url>
<unitId></unitId>

4.- Start Domain Manager services and, in Engine section, start
Default Software Content Update task.
