DB00270W message issued at Datacom MUF startup

Issue/Introduction

Some new maintenance has been applied to Datacom. Why is Datacom Multi-User (MUF) now showing the following message at startup?

DB00270W - ACCESS TO DATACOM TABLES NOT PROTECTED BY EXTERNAL SECURITY

The DB00270W message was an enhancement provided (via PTF RO99936 for Datacom 15.0 and PTF RO99390 for Datacom 15.1)  for customers who required a positive message to note that no external security is executing for the Datacom MUF being enabled.

The DB00270W message is informational.

ACCESS TO DATACOM TABLES NOT PROTECTED BY EXTERNAL SECURITY
Reason:
Access to Datacom tables has not been secured using External Security. None of the Paths used to access the data in Datacom tables is protected by External Security. It is likely that any user who can communicate with the Multi-User Facility (MUF) can obtain and modify data.

Action:
Consider enabling External Security for Datacom/DB.

Also, note that the DB00270W message can be suppressed from display at MUF startup using startup option:
