A problem has recently been discovered with the CA Harvest Software Change Manager (CA Harvest SCM) V13 UPGRADE whereby the upgrade database script will automatically delete the form types with formtypeobjid = 18 and 19.
In the majority of cases this accomplishes exactly what was intended (which is to delete form types associated with USD integration), but in some situations we have seen that this change can result in custom form types being deleted, along with all forms of that form type and all the data typed into those forms. Even though this problem will only affect a small number of customers, if encountered it can result in a significant loss of data, so all customers should be aware.
The Harvest SCM engineering team have analyzed the problem and have come up with a Sql script to identify if an existing Harvest SCM deployment is vulnerable to this problem (Important point: customers installing Harvest for the first time will NOT be subject to this problem and do NOT need to follow the following pre upgrade guidelines).
We strongly recommend that ALL existing Harvest SCM customers make a full backup of their Harvest database schema and run this script BEFORE performing a V13 upgrade.
