Issue/Introduction
During shutdown of CA 11 where F CA11task,SHUTDOWN ALL is issued, messages U11D-7000-6 or U11D-6000-6 occur which prevents the task from shutting down. What is the appropriate reply that should be made to these messages to allow the shutdown process to complete?
Resolution
When shutting down the CA 11 task, it is possible to receive the following messages if jobs are still active:
U11D-7000-6 REPLY 'C' TO CONTINUE, OR 'F' TO FORCE JEHF TASK SHUTDOWN
U11D-6000-6 REPLY 'C' TO CONTINUE, OR 'F' TO FORCE CMT TASK SHUTDOWN
The DBAS CMT or JEHF task has given the OS console operator the option of continuing the shutdown of the task or forcing an immediate shutdown. SSN=xxxx is the CA 11 subsystem issuing the message. This message is preceded by U11D-6000-4 or U11D-6000-5. Issued by U11D6000.
Reply C if user tasks are still active, as indicated by U11D-6000-5 or U11d-7000-5, and these tasks must finish. You may reply F if immediate shutdown is wanted. When reply of 'F' is made job(s) that are pass the U11RMS step will continue to run to completion without CA 11 tracking them any further. If the job is in the U11RMS step the job will abend with U0999 abend and will need to be submitted as a normal run once CA 11 is active again. It is recommended to start CA 11 up with RECOVCSA=NO if reply of 'F' is made.
