Issue/Introduction

Unable to Discover any new devices. Auto discovery fails with an error : SPC-OCC-11813: Error creating the model in landscape: The allowed device limit has been reached

You will also notice a "License Device Limit: 100" message in the Spectrum Control Panel or the $SPECOOT/SS/VNM.OUT file.

Environment

All supported DX NetOps Spectrum releases

Cause

This happens when you have installed the Remote Operations Server on the machine instead of the complete SpectroSERVER. By design, Remote Operations Server is limited to managing 100 device models.

• You can verify this by checking the Summary file under "<SPECROOT>\Install-Tool\logs" folder.
• The existence of the "Remote Operations Connector" item shows that is a Remote Operations Server installation.

Resolution

You will need to uninstall the existing installation and reinstall the complete SpectroServer to remove this limitation.
