CA API Gateway Login error message: User is required to use client certificate login

Issue/Introduction

Some users may experience the below error message when trying to login to the Gateway.

 

User is required to use client certificate login

Environment

All supported versions of the CA API Gateway

Cause

If any user has an associated certificate then the user must use certificate authentication to access policy manager. A user ID and password will not be accepted.

Resolution

To resolve the issue you will need to lookup the problem user in the identity provider and revoke his/her certificate.  Password authentication will then work.
