Issue/Introduction

During StandBy server installation, the installer hangs in the first installation step:

Configuring Service Management common tables

The message found in /tmp/casm/install.log file is the following:

 

INFO [DeployThread: Configuring CA Service Management common tables] [DatabaseManager] trying to persist the information configParameters class com.ca.smsi.installcore.model.SDMConfig value [email protected]

Cause

The error is due to an existing lock on al_cdb_configurationparameters db table.

Environment

CA Service Desk Manager 17.0

Resolution

Remove the lock on al_cdb_configurationparameters db table and rerun the installation.

Check with your db Administrator for details about the lock and how to remove it.
