Benefit Plans in CA PPM contain an out of the box attribute called "Benefit Variance". The logic that has been implemented on these attributes currently, result in them storing values by subtracting "Realized Benefit" from "Benefit". That is, "Benefit Variance" is being calculated as "Benefit" - "Realized Benefit". This causes a negative variance when Realized Benefit > Benefit
A screenshot of this behaviour is shown below
<Please see attached file for image>
This is an unexpected behaviour. The expectation is that "Benefit Variance" be calculated as "Realized Benefit" - "Benefit".
This is caused by a defect with ID DE32391.
An enhanced functionality is expected in a future version of the Product.
Till an enhanced functionality is rolled out, this out of the box attribute can be removed from Benefit Plans, and a custom attribute put in its place.
