ESP dSeries (DE) errors: Database Connection is NOT Valid : Connection reset

Issue/Introduction

User performs upgrade or migrations.  The following error may be seen during upgrade or normal operation of dSeries (DE):

 

The thread DM.dm-timer-pop collapsed. The exception is: com.ca.wa.core.engine.rdbms.DatabaseException: Server restart has been initiated

Please refer the PIB #RI83557 to cleanup the unused server detail from the Database.

Cause

Connection reset is due to something on the network or at the database side.  The connection was dropped.

Resolution

The "Connection reset" means that connection was dropped by database or something in between dSeries and DE.

Consult Network admin for more details.
