How to access Mastercat without starting FAQS/PCS.
 

How do you start Mastercat by itself without having to start FAQS/PCS?

You can access Mastercat without starting FAQS/PCS or FAQS/ASO.
You can do so by running DCMTDRIV in a partition.
 
Example:

// JOB DCMTDRIV 
// EXEC DCMTDRIV,SIZE=DCMTDRIV

This will allow you to use either the VSAM or CICS interface. To use CICS, install and use the MCAT transaction.
To use VTAM, define the DCMTDRIV application to VTAM. You would then log on to that application and select Mastercat from the GSS menu screen
