Environment

Running VM:Backup r3.6 on z/VM 6.4 system.

Resolution

VM:Backup PTF RO98767 is required for EAV support in r3.6.

For CP support of EAV devices, you must be running z/VM 6.4 and install the following IBM APARs/PTFs:

--- VM65943 (CP), VM65945 (CMS), PI85943 (ICKDSF)

These give you the ability to define MDISKs, etc. beyond cylinder 65,520.

Additional Information

VM:Secure also checks that the CP components are installed before it will let you map DASD volumes beyond CYL 65,520.
