Issue/Introduction

This article provides instructions for modifying the background color of the top-left navigation menu header in Identity Portal using custom CSS rules. This modification applies to the desktop interface when the default styling requires branding alignment.

Environment

Identity Portal 14.5

Cause

The Identity Portal branding configuration does not expose a native GUI control for specific menu header background elements, requiring custom CSS application to override the default grey background.

Resolution

1. Log in to the Identity Portal Management Console.
2. Navigate to the Admin UI.
3. Select Branding.
4. At the top of the left panel, select the Desktop section.
5. Scroll to the bottom of the left panel and add a new custom CSS rule with the following selector: .nav-menu .nav-menu-header
6. In the center panel, add the background-color attribute.
7. Define the desired color (e.g., using a hex code or color name) by selecting it from the color picker or typing it into the value field.
8. Click Save to apply the configuration.

Note: Changes are typically reflected immediately or after refreshing the Identity Portal home page.
