Issue/Introduction

The following error is seen in the $SPECROOT/SS/VNM.OUT file on the SpectroSERVER system:

 

Nov 12 19:34:39 ERROR TRACE at CsHostAddr.cc(421): Unknown type in CsHostAddress constructor 

Nov 12 19:34:39 Discarded duplicate host SpectroSERVERHost

Cause

Spectrum uses a process called CsHostAddress to resolve host names to ip addresses. There error is seen if this process encounters an issue with resolving hostnames.

Resolution

Verify the entries in the $SPECROOT/.hostrc file have a corresponding entry in the /etc/hosts file or are resolved correctly is using DNS.



Verify there are no duplicate entries in the $SPECROOT/.hostrc file.
