I have a JMeter script that is an older version. How can I convert it to a newer version of JMeter?

To convert a JMeter script into a newer version of JMeter by opening it in that version and saving it.
For example: you have a JMeter 2.11 script and want to convert it to JMeter 3.3.
1. Open the script up in JMeter 3.3.
2. Run the script, make sure there are no errors from JMeter.
3. Save the script. The act of saving it saves the script in the newer version and utilizes the property settings from jmeter.properties.
