Issue/Introduction

Stop a File Transmission in SOLVE File Transfer (SOLVE:FTS) due to a network error on a z/OS Operating System.

Environment

Component: SFTS

Release: 12.2

Resolution

Hold a transmission from the Transmission Request List or have it completely stopped by using command LINK STOP.

LINK STOP command followed by command LINK RESET and then command LINK START when the path is OK would recycle the failing link.

TCPIP STOP command would stop all links and any TN3270 sessions and other TCP/IP functionality and is not recommended.

Another option is to inactivate the related FTS Initiators to stop transmissions on the failing link.
